After watching the video, answer the following questions:

1.  Define “prosecutorial discretion.”

2.  Describe how prosecutors practice discretion in the following decisions:

a.  Decisions to charge

b.  Investigations

c.  Plea Negotiations and Agreements

d.  What penalty to seek


3.  Now let’s discuss whether prosecutors have too much or too little discretion, or just the right amount.  Choose an argument and support it with your opinion as well as at least one outside source.

Then respond to ONE other student who chose a different side of the argument than you.  Compare your two arguments.
