Consider the implications of such high rates
In the U.S. nearly 6.5 million individuals are under the control of the criminal justice system (incarcerated, on probation, etc…). Is this a sign of the inherent lawlessness of American people, or is it evidence the the U.S. is a nation that believes in strict law enforcement? Consider the implications of such high rates of social control for the operation of democracy.
